Falling in Love with Philadelphia

This year my research paper was accepted as part of a symposium at the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology (SIOP) conference! Not only did I present on behalf of Google, but I also got to experience the conference as a practitioner rather than a grad student (which was way better).  Like a sponge I soaked up every drop of I/O knowledge that I could while meeting new people and reuniting with old friends. But of course, I didn't fly across the country to sit in a hotel all day :) I had to take advantage of every second of my trip. Highlights include:

  • going on the most beautiful run to the Rocky Stairs...and then running up them Rocky Balboa style (lifelong goal)
  • running a 5k SIOP race along Boathouse Row in the freezing cold (so worth it)
  • seeing the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall (historic sites are fascinating to me)
  • visiting the Reading Terminal Market (seriously, the coolest place ever)

The trip has been a whirlwind, helping me grow both professionally and personally. If Boston + New York had a baby, it would give birth to Philly. Love this city.
