Harry Potter World!

My sister and I were itching to go on another sister trip somewhere (our last one was in May when we road tripped up to Oregon and stayed in a tree house) but we couldn't decide where to go. I was originally planning on taking her up to Portland for the long weekend, but flights were pretty expensive. So I figured, what if instead of paying for flights, I drove down to LA and put the money towards Universal Studios tickets instead? My sister was THRILLED with this idea, especially because the new Harry Potter World just opened at Universal and she is quite the Harry Potter fan. 

At long last, the weekend FINALLY came and to say it was a blast would be an understatement. The drive down to LA wasn't bad at all - when I got there on Saturday afternoon I went to her dorm, had lunch at Bruin Plate (my fav cafe on campus lol) and then we immediately went to Venice Beach. The weather was sunny and warm (SoCal I love you), and we walked all over exploring and talking. As the sun was setting, we did a self-timer photo shoot on the beach, which was both hilarious and ridiculous at the same time. I made her do some cheesy romantic poses and we were dying laughing after looking through them. We made our way to Whole Foods for dinner and Pressed Juicery for dessert -- my sister's first time trying non-dairy ice cream -- and she liked it! Basically, it was the best day ever, full of many of my favorite things. 

The next morning, we got to Universal before 8am. We were able to go on ALL the rides with practically no waiting at all - it was amazing! Harry Potter World was so cute and really made me obsessed with Harry Potter even though I read the books a million years ago. We tried butter beer, bought chocolate frogs, went wand shopping, rode the rides, and got pics with the Hogwarts Express train and the castle of course. We also went on the rest of the rides in the park, which was also so fun. For lunch, we went to a sushi place at Universal CityWalk and by mid afternoon we were so pooped! We got back to the hotel and stayed in for the rest of the night (aside from another Whole Foods run hehe) and ended up watching Harry Potter #4 while eating/snacking. I love having one on one time with her and being able to chat/laugh about literally anything and everything.

Of course, the weekend came and went too quickly, but it doesn't matter - I'm just happy that it happened. I'm not sure what I did to deserve this girl as my sister, but I sure am lucky to have her. She's my sister and best friend and I really can't imagine life without her. Sisters are everything. Xoxo
