Three Special Dates

1. AUNTY-NIECE DATE

I took my niece on a date to the movies and the bookstore a few weeks ago. When I picked her up, she was so excited, anxiously ready and waiting by the window. She was also squealing from excitement during the entire car ride to the theatre. When we got there, she was so happy to have a bag of popcorn. We saw the new movie, Sing, and she totally loved it. Then I took her to the bookstore, where we read tons of books and played with lots of toys. My favorite thing was when she would come up next to me with a book and say "let's read it!" with so much enthusiasm. She is such a bundle of sweetness!

2. SISTER DATE

Having my sister home for the holidays was such a luxury! We spent an afternoon, just the two of us, doing petroglyph and eating at one of my favorite places, SweetGreen. At petroglyph, we decided to each pick out what we wanted, and the other person would paint it for them. Art therapy is definitely a thing, because it was really calming to paint and talk. Afterwards, I enlightened her with some delicious salads for lunch. It's always a treat to have some alone time with my beautiful, witty and humorous sis. No matter what, I can always count on her to make my heart so happy.

3. MOTHER-DAUGHTER DATE

My mom and I went on a movie date recently and we saw Jackie. After watching it, I became slightly obsessed with the Kennedy assassination (so random, I know). We went to TrueFood Kitchen, a gem of a restaurant that I thought only existed in San Diego. But, the best part of our date was getting Pressed Juicery for dessert. They have non-dairy ice cream/sorbet/freezes that are so light and delicious! My mom and I were cracking up because a) we were those obnoxious customers who couldn't decide which flavor and toppings to get and b) it felt like it was -10 degrees outside, so we were FROZEN while we ate it... but who cares, it was SO WORTH IT! My mom is the cutest, sweetest person, and I love her way too much!
