Left My Heart in LA
The day after my sister and I got back from Ecuador, she moved into her first college apartment at UCLA, and for me, the past few weeks since getting back from our trip have been a complete whirlwind between catching up at work, going to the Dodgers game with my stepdad, getting a stomach virus for a few days (not fun), and then traveling down to LA last weekend for a quick visit with my sister. The Dodgers game was so much fun (and even better because they beat the Giants!) and the trip to LA was honestly one of the most fun weekends of my life. All of the highlights from my LA trip are in my VLOG!
QUICK TRIP TO LOS ANGELES
I took the first flight out of SJ Saturday morning and was in LA by 9am. First things first, I took my sister shopping so that she was stocked up on all the groceries and other essentials for the next week or two: after seeing her apartment, we walked to Westwood and went to Trader Joe’s, Target, and Whole Foods. After getting all the groceries out of the way, we took an Uber to Lake Hollywood where we began our ~6 mile round trip hike up to the back of the Hollywood sign! It was very sweaty but SO worth it! The views, the weather, and being so close to the Hollywood sign was a dream come true. From there, we dashed over to Santa Monica where we had some delicious vegan Thai food, and then we “birded” to Santa Monica pier where we played some carnival games and ate some amazing mangos. The last stop of the day was a trip back to Westwood so that my sister could get her belly button pierced (I mean, that’s what big sisters are for, right?) We stayed the night together at a super nice hotel by the airport and we both slept like rocks. It was such a fun weekend and as always, I had a blast with my favorite person in the world <3
DODGER GAME AT AT&T PARK
I’ve been “bleeding Dodger blue” since I was a kid, all thanks to my stepdad who took me to Dodger games all the time growing up. We hadn’t been for so long that I decided to get us tickets for his birthday and it was like a trip down memory lane. Not only was the game itself SO GOOD (we were cheering and screaming so much), we also had amazing seats. It was so nice to have some quality time with my stepdad and catch up on all the things, but especially all the updates in the world of baseball! It reminded me not only of how much I love baseball, but more importantly how much I treasure my relationship with my stepdad and how grateful I am for him. I already can’t wait to see more games together in the coming years! Go Dodgers!
