My Sister is TWENTY!

Brace yourself to see a bunch of gold "20" balloons in this post! Just in case it's not clear.... my sister is TWENTY today! Ahh! She came home this weekend and we celebrated her birthday by going to her favorite restaurant in the world: Banana Leaf. 

Quick back-story: Being the over-achieving, perfectionist older sister that I am, I wanted to surprise her with some birthday decor for our table so that she would feel extra special. I ordered the balloons in advance, got table confetti, wrapped up the presents, and got her a small bundt cake. Everything was going as planned, until I stepped into the restaurant and the "2" balloon drifted up to the top of their high ceiling! I may have freaked out a little (way more than a 29 yr old should over a lost balloon) but by some miracle from the gods, the workers there used brooms and retrieved the balloon! I was SO HAPPY (and embarrassed for maybe shedding a tear when I thought I would be left with a "0" balloon)! 

Today is honestly one of my favorite days of the year because it's all about my sis! It's hard to believe that two decades ago on this day, this is what I was doing:

And now, 20 years later, I'm sitting here writing this blog post, feeling so grateful that my sister is happy, healthy, ambitious, beautiful, and still the apple of my eye. She has added so much happiness, richness, and meaning into my life. It's hard to believe that this will be the only year that we'll ever both be in our twenties. Right as she enters it... I exit!
