Costa Rica

We got our "Pura Vida" on in Costa Rica for 8 days (as the locals say) and I feel like I added at least 5 years to my life! Below is a video I made of our trip!

Our Resort at Playa Mansita

After taking a red-eye and stopping in LAX, we finally landed in Liberia! The airport was pretty small and we were beyond exhausted and ready to lay in the sun. We rented a car and drove to our resort at Playa Mansita, which took about an hour and a half from the airport and mainly required us to stay on one long road. We stayed most of the time at the resort - sleeping in, working out, going on walks, watching sunsets, laying by the pool, laying in hammocks, and reading books cover to cover. My favorite thing was drinking fruit smoothies each day and eating the freshest veggie rolls at night at one of their restaurants!

Sensoria Rainforest Waterfalls & Hot Springs

We took a one day guided tour to Sensoria. On the way to the rainforest, we stopped at a really tiny local bakery where we got some Costa Rican coffee and baked goods (we actually loved the coffee even though we are not coffee drinkers!) It took about 3.5 hours to get to the rainforest. Once we got there, we hiked to two waterfalls and a hot spring, which were both really pretty. My favorite part of the entire trip was swimming into the waterfall - it was such clean, cool water and felt SO good because it was extremely hot. We saw tons of iguanas and lots of sloths too!

Playa Tamarindo & Playa Dantita

One of my favorite things about the trip was being able to drive to various beaches. Even though it was a ways to get to them, the beaches ended up being really beautiful and serene. Our favorite was Playa Dantita, a small beach nestled away in a really hilly area. There was barely anyone on the beach, so it was a perfect place to practice some yoga moves. And yes, that is Derek mocking me (see what I have to live with?)
