Papeete, Tahiti

Last fall, we booked a trip to Tahiti for my birthday week. We didn’t know at the time that we had booked during the low season there, meaning that the flights were pretty cheap because of the weather and there were a handful of tourists there. The resort was SO quiet! Although it was as beautiful as I imagined - turquoise, sparkling water and lots of humidity - we didn’t get much sun (rain and thunder pretty much the whole time) which was a bit of a bummer. Our Tahiti vlog captures pretty much just the 1-2 sunny days we had at the resort hanging at the pool; the rest of the time we spent playing cards, sleeping a ton, doing some work, and working out. The resort was really beautiful, but since Tahiti is so remote, food and accommodations were pretty expensive. Tahiti was a mix of southeast Asia (in terms of climate), Hawaii (in terms of culture), and France (in terms of language - there was barely an English at all) which was neat. It was worth experiencing French Polynesia and checking it off our bucket list - it will certainly be a trip we’ll remember forever. Xoxo
