Highlights from Winter
Turning 35!
I turned 35 in February, right around the time mom and Matt were visiting. It was so fun to spend time with them. I met them at their hotel the night they arrived, and the next day they stopped by our apartment before I took them to one of my favorite places in NYC - the Cocoa Store! Afterwards, we had a nice Thai lunch together to celebrate me and Sam’s upcoming birthdays. It is always so special when we have time together.
Adventures with Lorena
Lorena visited for a quick weekend in the city, where we saw the Notebook on Broadway (in a nutshell, we laughed and we cried!) followed by some delicious gelato. The next morning, we did our long walk together, (our favorite tradition) and had a beautiful, perfect Sunday morning just walking, talking, and laughing. The perfect weekend if you ask me!
Gelato with Sophia
We had lots of fun catching up over gelato with Sophia a few weeks ago. She is graduating college this year and we are so proud of her. It was so nice to have some catch up together and to be reminded of what it is like to be in the mindset of a college student, on the precipice of forging your path in the world! We are so excited to see what she will do (as her #1 fans!)
Coney Island
We finally made the trek to Coney Island, which has been on our NYC list since we moved here! We went on a cold but clear Sunday morning, and I loved seeing the boardwalk, Luna Park, and Nathan’s hot dog stand. I grew up watching it on TV so to be there in real-life was so neat. Coney Island felt very all-American - like a throwback to the 70s or 80s. So fun!
