A Very Special Trip to San Diego

When your best friend since 6th grade has recently had an adorable baby, lives in San Diego, and wants to see you, there's only one thing you do: book a flight and GO!

My past few days were spent soaking up tons of baby love AND southern California sunshine. I stayed with my best friend, her husband, and their baby in their adorable apartment in the heart of SD's most eclectic and vintage neighborhood, Golden Hill.

It was so touching to witness my long-time best friend being the most loving, nurturing mama to her baby boy. I left SD feeling a sense of renewal, deep happiness, and gratitude for being able to spend quality time with such beautiful people. This trip served as a reminder to *always* make time for the most important things in life: friendships, love, laughter, and plenty of sunshine.

DAY ONE

After going on a walk to the park, Kaylene & Cortney took me out for Girl's Night in Little Italy. I felt SO cool taking a Lyft to Prep Kitchen (such a delicious and trendy restaurant). After dinner & dessert #1, we grabbed dessert #2: GELATO (not pictured because we ate it so fast). It was the perfect start to a perfect trip!

DAY TWO

Kaylene, Cortney & Baby Quincy had a surprise planned for me and refused to spill the beans. After going on a run that morning, we piled into the car and drove to Temecula for the afternoon, where I got a surprise visit from my other best friend Rachel and her newborn Baby Berkeley. Seeing both of my BFF's with their little ones was so heartwarming! Later that day, Kaylene & I walked to the park with Quincy, made tofu-quinoa-veggie bowls, and watched Age of Adaline.

DAY THREE

After running to downtown SD, Kaylene & I took Pepe and Quincy on a long walk around the neighborhood and to the local cafe. Later that day, we took the baby to the pool to practice his "swimming" and to cool off from the sweltering heat. He was the cutest little swimmer, and he did a great job going under water! That night, I babysat Quincy (and put him to sleep) while his mom and dad went on a date. Lesson Learned: Putting a baby to sleep is NO easy feat!

DAY FOUR

Kaylene is a Ladies' Bootcamp instructor at the local gym, so on Saturday morning Cortney & I went to her class -- I'm still feeling the soreness from the intense workout! But, I did my first ever crow-to-headstand position, which was a huge accomplishment for me. Later that morning, I bid farewell to my beautiful friends and my adorable nephew Quincy. I love them so much!
