Working Abroad .04

As of yesterday I officially spent an entire month living and working in Singapore. At this point I feel as though I know Singapore like the back of my hand! Although it was a little bittersweet to leave (my team there is so sweet), I was beyond excited to come to Sydney for the first time in my life.

During my last few weeks in Singapore, I ran the Venus Women's 5k at East Coast Park with a bunch of Googlers to celebrate International Women's Day. It was a really pretty run along the beach and I came in 5TH place! So close yet so far from the cash prize....!

I also discovered one of Singapore's hidden gems: MacRitchie Nature Preserve. I heard about their famous "Tree Top Walk" where you walk across a really high suspension bridge in the forest. I knew I had to go. So, I hopped on the MRT for 45 minutes, asked strangers how to get to the nature trail, and somehow found my way to the trail head. The trail itself was absolutely GORGEOUS! So green and lush and basically heaven for runners. 

It was about a 5k run/hike up to the suspension bridge. It was well worth it -- the view was spectacular and it literally was a "walk in the trees". The bridge was SO long and just a really cool experience. Coming back, I took a few wrong turns and ended up taking the longest scenic route back EVER. I was dying of thirst because it was so humid! Luckily I got off after a few stops on the subway to get a smoothie. In total I ended up spending 2.5 hours running/hiking the trail that morning... and I'm still sore from it! 

Before I left the wonderful Singapore office, my friend/teammate Natalie and I did a mini photoshoot around the office. I didn't realize I was doing peace signs in every single picture....lol. Natalie and I also went to a comedy night together after work one night, and my other friend Jennis and I grabbed Gong Cha (delicious bubble drinks) right before I left. 

After a long day of flying yesterday I have finally made it to Sydney where I'll be working from for the next two weeks before coming home. Can't wait to hang with the Sydney team in person and work from the Sydney office - it's supposed to be really cool. I already did some exploring around Darling Harbour today and my breath has already been taken away! Look out for Sydney (and New Zealand pictures) coming soon :)
