Diana + John Tie the Knot
Once upon a time six years ago, all the way in Singapore, the life paths of two young, adventurous girls crossed - and the rest was history! From cliff jumping to exploring random islands in SE Asia (including Malaysia and the Philippines to name a few), Diana and I have a history that makes our best-friendship so unique. It's pretty remarkable to find one of your best friends for life while studying abroad. And despite having a long-distance best-friendship, we talk almost every day.
So you can imagine my excitement when I found out I was going to be a part of Diana's wedding. Although it was such a quick trip out to Chicago to attend (we were there for about 30 hours total), it was of course worth it. I've never, ever seen Diana so happy or more radiant. What a beautiful day, a beautiful bride, and a beautiful couple! Recounting it below makes me want to cry all over again....
THE PREP
First things first, we got our makeup done at Sephora. It was so fun to get all glammed up for a day! We decided that we would all go with a more "dramatic" look, so we all got matching dark lipstick. So fierce!
After our hair and makeup was done, all of the bridesmaids went to the venue to get ready with Diana. The venue was beautiful - it was a Polish venue with a very elegant, classy feel. We had a blast chatting, laughing and taking pics (usually all at the same time)! Oh and how stunning was Diana in her gown and veil?!
THE CEREMONY
My favorite part of the ceremony was when one of Diana and John's friends played a song that he wrote for them. It was so so touching and had everyone tearing up! It was such a unique part of their ceremony. Afterwards, we gathered outside to take some more pictures before the reception (and the real partying) began!
THE CELEBRATION
Let's be honest -- the best part of every wedding is the dancing! After many tear-jerking speeches (mine included!) we had yummy food, delicious desserts from a huge dessert station, and danced the night away. I have blisters all over my feet from dancing so hard in heels. My favorite part was when we everyone held hands in a circle around Diana and John and then would gather into them for a huge group hug.
Diana and John are truly the perfect couple and I am so happy for them to begin their lives together as husband and wife! What a PERFECT way to spend a summer weekend! Xoxo
