Summer Highlights

Hike Date

A few weeks ago, Derek and I decided to hike Mission Peak, one of the more grueling hikes around here. It is literally straight uphill all the way to the top. I'm also pretty sure I was sore for almost a week after! I really love this hike despite it being so hot... oh and we even saw some cows along the way. Once we got to the top, it was the best feeling AND the best view. This is definitely one of my favorite ways to spend time with my love!

Sister Sleepover

My beautiful sis is heading off to UCLA very soon so I've been trying to take advantage of every weekend I have with her before she goes. A few weekends ago I took her on a sister date: we went out to lunch at Santana Row, and then I took her on a shopping spree at Valley Fair. I bought her a lot of cute new clothes for her new LA/college life! Then last weekend she spent the night and we had a total girl's night (plus Derek) at our condo. First I took her to get some decorations for her dorm room, then I made her and Derek pizza, followed by a veggie-tofu stir fry, followed by some healthy cookie and muffin baking! Lately I've been obsessed with my 5-ingredient blueberry muffins (bananas, oats, honey, blueberries, cinnamon). They are sooo yummy! Then the 3 of us completely vegged out for the rest of the night, talking/laughing about everything. Her and Derek are BFF's; and it makes me so happy when the 3 of us spend time together. The next morning her and I went to the gym together, then grabbed smoothies from Nekter. I'm going to miss that girl SO much when she leaves. I'm still in denial about it though!

Napa & Game Night

Last week we went to Napa all day for a work offsite event. It was a long day but a fun day! I loved spending time with my teammates, and it was of course nice to get out of the office for a day. Highlights of the day were going geocaching and playing spikeball. Then, last night we had some of my teammates over for dessert and game night! I decided to get a variety of gelato flavors and toppings (including strawberries, blueberries, chocolate chips, granola, etc) and my wonderful mom baked cookie dough so all I had to do was bake some cookies to go along with it! We had a total of 4 couples over, and we were laughing all night. So grateful to have such great friends from work!
