Life Lately
Having our niece Mercy sleep over at our place is one of my favorite things in the world. She is so much fun to have, and so cooperative. Her little laugh can brighten up any bad day, and her energetic spirit and energy is contagious. She's incredibly smart and has a pretty cute sense of humor too. She totally loves Uncle Derek's jokes, and will make him repeat them over and over, cracking up every single time. This last sleepover, we went to the playground, played with play-doh, had cuddle time, and watched Finding Nemo. The next day I took her on a little date just the two of us to get smoothies at Nekter and then go see Finding Dory. She insisted on getting watermelon juice after seeing it on the sign. She loved it! When I dropped her off at home later that day, she got sad (and so did I). We are definitely best buds. We always have a blast together - she makes my heart so happy!
Last weekend we celebrated our friends Mike and Courtney's engagement! We went out Friday night with the whole gang and then on Saturday had a little engagement party at Courtney's parents house. Everything from the Courtney & Mike mints to the company was perfection! I'm already beyond excited for their wedding next year.....
We recently had another family dinner and game night, this time playing competitive rounds of Taboo. Despite being on the losing team, it was still so fun. Chef Ka-Ling made a mean taco bar too. The funniest part of the night was when my team lost for the millionth time, and the winning team (aka Derek, Sam, Ron) jumped in circles screaming with pure joy. It was definitely entertaining but also salt in the wound. Next time, victory will be mine!
