Two Christmases

my big fat portuguese christmas eve

The first of my two Christmases this year was spent Portuguese style! With so many kiddos running around the house, tons of gifts to open, and lots of laughs, it is always a blast. As usual, we had the huge spread of Portuguese food cooked up by Grandma Pires herself, followed by gift opening by the kids. Everyone loved their gifts this year and we ended up opening and playing with pretty much all of them immediately. It's hard to believe how much the siblings and cousins have grown since I've known them. Christmas #1 was definitely a success!

Christmas at Home

On Christmas Day, I went over to my mom's house really early so that I could go with my sister to walk some of her clients' dogs together. Walking dogs was actually really fun and calming and we had so much fun. When we got home we did our annual tradition of opening gifts to each other. The themes for our gifts this year were: Star Trek, animals, and Etsy :-) But the best gift of all was our gift to our mom and stepdad, which was a one night stay at the Ritz Carlton in SF - they deserve to be treated like royalty, if only for one night! They were so surprised and so excited! The rest of the day was spent lounging, playing games, decorating gingerbread men, and eating a delicious chicken and veggie lunch. Both of my Christmases this year were so special and for that, I am so grateful. Xoxo
