Special Celebrations
Showering Courtney
Over the weekend my friend Courtney had her bridal shower and it was one of the cutest showers I have ever been to. From the decor, to the games, to the weather, to the company, to the bride-to-be, everything was literally perfect. Courtney is one of the sweetest girls I know, and Derek and I are eagerly anticipating her and Mike's wedding in Idaho in less then 2 months. It's going to be one for the books, and I can't wait to be a part of it. Did I mention that Courtney is going to be such a beautiful bride?!
Celebrating Our Moms
This weekend was also one of my favorite "holidays"... Mother's Day! I think this day is so near and dear to my heart because in addition to having an incredible mom, I also have an amazing future mother in law who is so special to me. Both of them are huge role models for me and are my two biggest sources of support. Not many people get to say that!
The first "mom celebration" for my mother in law consisted of a long walk with our niece on a beautiful Saturday. We threw rocks in the water and Mercy had the best time collecting rocks and being her usual adorable self. On Sunday, we celebrated my mom (and Poa Poa) by going to lunch in downtown Sunnyvale, and then getting my mom's favorite non-dairy ice cream from Pressed Juicery. I surprised my mom with a scrapbook of her and Matt's 20th wedding anniversary travels and it was definitely a hit (you can never go wrong with scrapbooks!) My mom is undoubtedly one of those rare souls who is genuinely beautiful inside and out. She loves each of her kids fiercely; there's nothing she wouldn't do for us. She also strikes the perfect balance between being a mom and a best friend. Needless to say, I would be lost without her. Xoxo
