Girls Trip 2017: Paris Edition
After spending some time in London, we jetted over to Paris via the bullet train. We took the earliest train (7am) so that we'd have as much time as possible in Paris. Little did we know how tired we would be... BUT we managed to see everything we wanted to see which made it worth it! The highlight of the trip/my life was seeing the Eiffel Tower (finally!) and riding up to the very top of it to see the views. There are no words! I also loved seeing the original Mona Lisa, touching the top of the Louvre (hehe), seeing the view from Montmartre, wandering through Le Marais (cutest little Parisian quarter), and seeing the one and only Notre Dame cathedral. Although navigating the metro stations were tough, Paris is one beautiful place. Je t'aime Paris!
THE LOUVRE & MONTMARTRE
After a hectic morning taking the underground to the train station, we managed to catch our 7am train to Paris just in time. After checking into our beautiful boutique hotel, we navigated our way to the Louvre and Montmartre. We saw some famous statues and of course the Mona Lisa, then saw all of Paris at the top of the Montmartre. It started lightning and raining when we were at the top, so on the way back down we stopped into some cafes to get some Parisian chocolates - my new favorite kind of chocolate! Paris is exactly as I imagined it... small, European streets, charming buildings, and patisserie's on every corner!
THE EIFFEL TOWER
The only thing cooler than seeing the Eiffel tower is going to the top of it! It was a freezing cold morning, but that didn't stop us from venturing inside the tower and seeing the most amazing views. I am so glad I can finally say that I've been to such an iconic landmark (and experienced it with my mom and sister)!
NOTRE DAME & LE MARAIS
For some reason, I was so excited to visit Notre Dame in person... maybe because I loved the Disney movie Hunchback of Notre Dame? I'm not sure, but I thought the architecture of the cathedral was so gorgeous. We also wandered around Le Marais, which is one of my mom's favorite places in Paris. It has the most adorable shops and so many Jewish restaurants and bakeries, including my mom's favorite one. Unfortunately, they couldn't make the pastrami sandwich because it was a Jewish holiday, so my mom bought all the ingredients and made the sandwich herself in the street for her and my sister. It was pretty hilarious seeing my mom suddenly transform into a sandwich maker, but hey, it worked and they loved it!
