Sophia's Sweet 16
We had a big family celebration planned for Sophia's Sweet 16 last weekend involving an Italian dinner for 10 of us at Il Fornaio, followed by Escape the Room! Before meeting up for dinner, I picked Mercy up for a few hours to go to the park and make some Valentine cards (our annual tradition). We had beautiful weather, Mercy loved running around and making friends, and we went to the library after to read books and make the cards. And of course, we had to stop at the fountain so she could throw in some coins and make some wishes ("Sorry Auntie Nay Nay but I can't tell you what my wishes are") It was a beautiful afternoon spent with an even more beautiful little girl!
Afterwards we ventured to downtown San Jose to meet up for dinner. The Il Fornaio that we went to holds a special place in my heart because that was my Papa's favorite restaurant and I have lots of special memories with him there. We had so much fun and perhaps my favorite part was getting to chat with (or should I say interrogate?) Sophia's boyfriend, Davis :-)
After dinner, we went to the Escape Room and it only took us 71 minutes to escape (we were aiming for less than 60)! It was honestly soooo hard (the clues were really confusing and complicated) but it was hilarious because everyone's personality really came out. The younger generation (Luke, Sophia, Davis) did really well and kind of led us older folks, ha! I'm so glad we got to spend the evening celebrating such a beautiful soul! Xoxo
