Hot Summer Days — a beautiful life

FOURTH OF JULY

We had our typical Independence Day celebration at the house, and my mom, sis and I may have gone a little picture crazy but it was only because we had red, white and blue tops on! It was also special this year because Poa Poa was here to celebrate (she just got back from Hong Kong), and as usual she did tons of cooking and brought lots of delicious fruit. I always feel like summer has officially started once the 4th rolls around! I slept over at my mom's that night of the 3rd, went to sleep before fireworks (duh), and then ran my favorite 5 mile hilly loop around the neighborhood at the crack of dawn on the morning of the 4th. It was the best!

PORTUGAL SOCCER & MERCY SLEEPOVER

This past week we also had fun watching Portugal play in the world cup. This was the only 90 mins out of the past 4 years that I have ever even cared or thought about soccer lol. Although they lost, it was still fun watching together (and by watching, I mean that I played with Mercy and her toys while glancing at the game every now and then). We also went to the pool with the kids and then had Mercy sleep over that night. The next morning, we went to an early showing of Incredibles 2, and she loved it! It was a wonderful weekend spent in the sun!
