Falling into Fall
Happy Fall! Confession: I can barely keep my eyes open as I type this… I have been working so much these past few months and have never been so exhausted. Since changing jobs, the days (and nights) have been busier than ever and I feel like there are never enough hours in the day. Time feels like it’s been flying by (not in a good way) so I’m really trying to figure out how I can keep a healthier mindset with regards to work and life and all the things! Therefore, I really do feel like I’m “falling” into fall, as I can’t even believe it’s fall and wasn’t it just summer two seconds ago? I am really looking forward to taking time off in the next few months and finding ways to disconnect more.
I view life as being an ebb and flow of different seasons, where different things take priority over others depending on the phase. This phase of my life, from my mid 20’s until now, has been all about working hard, getting as ahead in my career as possible, and earning a comfortable living while traveling and seeing as much of the world. As I get older though, I am looking forward to my priorities changing and finding value and meaning from other things aside from a successful career. These are some of the things I’ve been pondering on my evening walks and early morning runs :)
That being said, I do have some non-work, real-life documentation from some of the outings and highlights from the past few months. These are the kinds of memories that I live for :) I’ll be making a better effort to post more blogs since I’ve been letting it get away from me lately. So here’s to a new season and a new chapter… Xoxo
Dodgers vs Giants
For Father’s Day, my sister and I got my stepdad tickets to the Giants vs Dodgers game. We had second row seats on the first base line over the Dodgers dugout and it was amazing! It was a perfect day in the city and we had a blast watching the second to last game of the season.
Family BBQ
We spent a beautiful afternoon hanging with our nieces and nephews. It was really warm that day and honestly felt like an end of summer hurrah!
Jungle Island & Pumpkin Patch Adventures
I took Mercy out for a few hours one weekend to Jungle Island (her first time there - she loved it) and to the pumpkin patch so she could go on all the inflatable slides. She loved crawling through all the mazes, jumping, doing the climbing wall, and playing arcade games. She is growing up too fast!
Hanging with Donovan
I dropped by my mom’s to get a few cuddles in with Donovan who is not even a year old and somehow almost half my size! He is truly such a sweetheart and brings me so much joy to just look at, hold, and squeeze.
Family Pumpkin Carving
We celebrated Halloween with the family by having a pumpkin carving challenge. Mercy did a unicorn pumpkin and we did a springbok to represent South Africa. Loved hanging with everyone (and baby Kaia, who is such a cool kid sitting on the couch by herself!)
