Home for the Holidays

Google Holiday Party & Donovan’s 1st Birthday

We had a great time at our work holiday party this year which was right by our house so we had no excuse not to go! In addition, our sweet little nephew turned one right before Christmas, so we had a perfect little celebration of him at his house that day. He is the fastest crawler around; can say “ba!” very loudly; has the world’s cutest smile; is very observant; and loves reading books. It was extra special because my Poa Poa was here for it, so we all got to celebrate him together. He is the definition of a sweetheart and we couldn’t love him more!

Gingerbread Houses

It was fun getting together with the Pires’ to build gingerbread houses this year again. Mercy won 1st place with her unicorn house which was by far the best one! Kaia was so chill and relaxed the whole time. It was her first Christmas this year and she seemed to love it. She is such a chill baby… she is so precious like her sister!

Ice Skating & Sleepover with Mercy

Our holiday sleepover edition with Mercy featured ice skating in Central Park and watching “Klaus” before bed. Now that she’s 6 she is smarter and taller and cuter than ever. Picking her up from school on her last day before Christmas break, she ran to me and gave me a big kiss. She is growing up so fast and sometimes I just want time to slow down. As usual, we did activities like drawing, playing the “three marker challenge”, and tormenting Uncle Derek. Before dropping her off at home the next morning, we went to the bookstore and she read me some of her favorite Dr. Seuss books. The fact that she can now read to me still blows my mind!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve with the Pires’ and it never disappoints! Grandma Pires made all the Portuguese food you could ever imagine, and all the cousins came this year which was awesome. Everyone is getting so old and grown up. We will always have a special place in our hearts for Christmas Eve at grandma’s!

Merry Christmas

On Christmas day we spent time at our mom’s houses. All our nieces and nephews loved their gifts and it was so special to spend time with all of them. This Christmas, I’m especially grateful to have so many cute nieces and nephews in my life. I love watching them grow up. It was a wonderful holiday spent at home but now we need a long nap and a vacation! :) Xoxo
