Sweet Summertime

Sister Weekend

For Christmas, I got my sister tickets to see Shawn Mendes, without really knowing who he is aside from the fact that he’s her celebrity crush and he sings the song “Stitches”. After seeing him in concert, I can now understand why every 16 yr old girl is obsessed with him. He is SO cute, dreamy, talented… and we had the best time singing and dancing at his show together (I barely had a voice by the end of it). Earlier that day, my sister flew in from LA and we visited Poa Poa (who just turned 80 yet looks 25 years younger than that) and Donovan who is now scooting and crawling his way around. He woke up from his nap to his two aunties singing in his face and he was a little confused lol. My sis and I spent the rest of the day hanging out together before the concert. The following day, I dropped her back off at the airport so she could spend a few more weeks in LA before moving back home to start grad school next month.

Kaia’s Birthday

We have another beautiful niece! Baby Kaia came into the world on July 11th, exactly 5 years and 11 months after her big sister. She looks like a perfect porcelain doll and I can’t get over how precious she is. I am already excited to have her and her big sis over for sleepovers with us in the years to come!

Kevin & Natasha’s Wedding in Monterey, CA

We celebrated the marriage of two of the best people we know, Kev and Tash, last month near Monterey. It was a big Persian-inspired wedding and I honestly had the time of my life. The next day, I had no voice, my legs could barely function from dancing so hard, and I felt like a truck had run me over because we stayed up past midnight (four hours straight) DANCING. I love this group of friends so much because both the guys and girls are so fun and chill to be around, plus everyone has the same sense of humor so it’s non-stop laughs the entire time. The wedding was full of surprises, including a surprise dance from the bride and groom (my favorite), a song performance from the bride to her groom (she has the voice of an angel), and truly the best, most heartfelt, tear-jerking speeches I’ve ever heard at a wedding. I was in tears (as was everyone else). So happy for Kev and Tash - they are perfect for each other!

Nate & Morgan’s Wedding in Portland, OR

Last but not least, I wrapped up wedding season celebrating my gorgeous friend Morgan and her husband Nate at Horning’s Hideout near Portland this weekend. The only words I can use to describe this wedding are perfect and magical. Every single detail was stunning; the venue was so green; the weather was perfect; and the people were the best! It was a more intimate wedding with ~75 guests, in the middle of nowhere. I couldn’t get over how beautiful Morgan looked and how happy everyone was. I spent the night catching up with my friends from work which was so fun, and overall it was the perfect summer evening celebrating the cutest couple EVER!
