Sis Moves to NYC (Cue My Tears)
There are some moments in life that you never forget… and the moment my sister called to tell me that she was moving to NYC was definitely one of them for me. I was BEYOND excited for her! The past few years have been full of remarkable moments for her: she earned her Masters degree, landed her first full-time job, and moved to the Big Apple! It’s crazy to think about how I held her in my arms on the day she was born, and now she is a beautiful, accomplished young adult navigating the world (aka kicking ass and taking names!)
To celebrate this exciting new chapter of her life (along with Shay and Rocket) we threw them a NYC-themed sendoff party, with NYC decorations and all of her favorite foods, including homemade tomato basil soup, orzo salad, and hot lava cakes. From hanging paper taxis, to an “NYC” balloon wall, to an NYC multiple choice trivia quiz (Shay won the coveted $15 Starbucks gift card), it was the perfect way to spend time together as a family before they left. We also managed to get some cute family pics outside on the most gorgeous day. I’m so excited to see how they like the city life, and am already looking at dates to go visit them soon (duh). This was one very proud “big sister moment” for me, so I had to document it. I love this girl so much and can’t wait to see her grow and learn through this next chapter of her life!
