May Recap

Team Offsite in Austin, TX

I kicked off the month of May with a fun work offsite in Austin. I had a great time meeting my teammates in person for the first time - everyone was so sweet. It was pretty humid in Austin and I loved exercising along the Colorado River each morning. Our downtown office was beautiful and one of my favorite parts of the trip was being able to walk to the office each morning!

Auntie Life

I had some fun playground action as I lived my best auntie life. It is always so cute to see the little ones take on slides, swings, and sand. They are each so adorable with their little personalities. I love watching them grow up!

Hiking with Friends & Family

We had an impromptu Saturday morning hike with some friends, and finally got to meet baby Luca! He is so adorable and did not make a single peep during our entire 4.5 mile hike. I was so impressed. I also went for a long hike with my sister who was in town for a few weeks recently. Always love having quality sister time with her and catching up on everything under the sun (literally and figuratively)!

Mother’s Day

For Mother’s Day we had a casual get-together and enjoyed a healthy lunch and quality family time together. The best part was seeing Donovan wear the cutest collared shirt! I also presented my mom with her gift, which would be a surprise mother/daughter day together (see next section).

Girl’s Day with Mom

I took my beautiful and very well-deserving mom on a very special date as part of her joint Mother’s Day + Birthday gift this year. I wrote some poems with clues about what activity we would be doing. Each step of the way, I had her read the poem out loud. For our first stop, we went to the NICEST most boujee pedicure / spa at Rosewood Sandhill. It was absolutely incredible and we truly felt like QUEENS. It was nestled in the foothills and we left feeling very zen. After getting one of the highest quality, most tranquil pedicures of our lives, we made our way to Stanford Shopping Center for a healthy lunch at TenderGreens. We enjoyed avo toast, green juices, and veggies/fish. From there, I treated my mom to the shopping spree of her dreams, with gift cards to her favorite stores. I offered my personal stylist services (aka fashion insights / opinions / critiques) as she tried on different pieces to help contribute to her “dream staple wardrobe”. To top off the day, we of course treated ourselves to more delicious green juice from Joe and the Juice, and some blocks of chocolate from Laderach. It was truly one of the best days of both of our lives (lol, joking, but not really) as we got to spend complete quality 1 on 1 time together. Have I mentioned how much I love my mom? We are definitely going to have more days like that in the future!

Memorial Day

To wrap up a crazy busy month, we had a family gathering on Memorial Day, where the theme was “It’s a Wrap” and we celebrated 3 important things: 1) It’s a Boy (referring to my brother’s 2nd child); 2) Happy 60th Birthday (referring to my mom’s 60 birthday); and 3) Bon Voyage (referring to Poa Poa and Gong Gong taking off to Hong Kong. My mom delivered (as always) with a killer homemade “make your own wrap bar” featuring different wrap options (lettuce, tortillas, etc), protein fillings (chicken, tofu, beans, etc), all the toppings you could imagine, in addition to delicious fruits and desserts. As we all ate together, I felt so grateful that so many people that I love could be all together under one roof. All of us will be busy traveling and living our lives over the next several months, so it was a really special way to stop time for a few hours and just “be” together. I embarrassed my mom with huge 60 balloons and was able to snap a few cute pics before the 6 flew away (lol). And we got to have a fun photo shoot doing all the combinations of people you could imagine. It was a really memorable afternoon and one that I will always cherish!
