Weekend in Montauk & The Hamptons

Since moving here, we have been wanting to visit Long Island, specifically Montauk and the Hamptons. Last weekend, we decided to rent a car and stay the night out there. Early Saturday morning, we embarked on our eastern drive to Montauk Lighthouse (AKA the easternmost point of NY). There were barely any cars on the road which was so nice. Although it was a very cold day, it was neat to see the lighthouse in person! From there, we stopped at Main Beach in East Hampton, but we didn’t last long since it was so cold out. Then we went to Sag Harbor, where it started snowing. I felt like we were in a snow globe or a movie set! The downtown street was so adorable, and we loved checking out the bookstore, cafes, and bagel shops. The snow started coming down really strong, so we decided to check out some houses before heading to our hotel.

While driving, Derek had a rush of inspiration to go jump in the ocean while it was snowing. We drove to Cooper’s Beach on a whim, and he jumped into the ocean in his long johns and a tee (truly one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed my life). As the camera woman, I had to document it and run after him while filming. I was laughing so hard I almost couldn’t breathe. He made it, but our rental car did not. We had no towel, so he used a sweatshirt to dry off in the car after. The car interior was absolutely covered in sand and water that we had to clean out later…. but it was 100% WORTH IT for the memories! Never a dull day with this husband of mine. Xoxo.
