Turning 37 in NYC

I celebrated my 37th birthday back in February. I spent the day doing what I love most: walking around the city, checking out the Jackie Robinson museum, getting a massage and eating delicious soup with some of my favorite people! It fell on a Saturday this year — it was a chilly day but felt warmer compared to the frigid winter days we were having. After walking to one of my favorite bookstores near Bryant Park, I got a massage and then met up with Sam and Shay for some Georgian food (random!) I had some delicious soup and then we enjoyed a nice walk home after.

Thinking back to where I was when I turned 36 (alone in Bermuda, anxiety-ridden about my job and deeply unhappy with my current work situation) I feel so proud of the growth I’ve made over the last year, especially when it comes to my relationship with work and getting out of a job that I hated. I have found a better mentality towards work — and a stronger sense of self that isn’t solely defined by what I do. My biggest lesson last year was the importance of shedding what is no longer serving you. It can be scary and hard — but the right thing to do is often the hardest. I can’t wait to see where I’ll be when I turn 38. Cheers to another year of taking leaps of faith and believing in myself! Xoxo
