Dark Chocolate Almond Pretzel Bark

I am so excited to announce my most recent obsession, which is the perfect marriage of all my favorite ingredients (dark chocolate, almonds, pretzels, coconut)! I have always been the biggest fan of pretty much anything covered in chocolate, from chocolate covered Goji berries, to Trader Joe's chocolate almonds, to plain old chocolate covered pretzels. To me, it is the most delicious dessert, and a good way to get in my dark chocolate cravings every day (yes, I said every day).

It wasn't until I came across this recipe on Pinterest that I realized that with the amount of chocolate covered things that I eat, I could probably make my own. So, without further adieu, here is the EASIEST, most DELICIOUS recipe for making your own Chocolate Covered [Insert Your Favorite Ingredients Here]. I deviated a little bit from the original recipe. But add in cranberries, marshmallows, peanuts - whatever you prefer. It is so easy, yummy, and scrumptious!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 10 oz. bag of dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate if you prefer)
  • 3 cups of almonds (chopped or whole)
  • Pretzels (broken up into pieces)

DIRECTIONS:

  • Line a baking sheet with foil.
  • Prep your almonds by chopping them (I left mine whole).
  • Prep your pretzels by breaking them into pieces.
  • Combine almonds and pretzels in a mixing bowl.
  • Melt the chocolate in microwave in 45 second intervals, stirring in between intervals (be careful not to overcook it!)
  • Once chocolate is melted, stir it into the pretzel and almond mixture.
  • Spread out the mixture onto the foil lined baking sheet, and top it with some salt (optional), chopped up pecans or almonds (optional), and coconut (optional).
  • Place in freezer for about 20 minutes.
  • Take it out, break into pieces, and enjoy!
